What is Teacup Agility?
Teacup Agility is for the smaller dogs, 17 inches at the withers and under. Teacup agility obstacles are scaled down a bit and placed a wee bit closer together for fast maneuvering smaller dogs. Teacup Agility is not associated with the AKC or UKC agility. Teacup Agility is an independent association.
Teacup Agility has ribbons, titles and National shows. They have a website at www.k9TDAA.com . One can get a copy of the rules and regulations, membership forms and of course, the registration form to get your dog in Teacup.
Interested in seeing what Teacup is all about? Call Pine Meadows DTC and check it out. The Teacup obstacles are set up to run the standard course and a “games” course. Games you say? But of course! Smaller dogs like to play and have a good time.
Handlers are given a chance to have their dog experience some of the obstacles if the dog has no prior experience with agility. It is a fun way to see where one stands with agility, ready to run at a trial or just ready to give it a try. We are available to answer questions to help a novice handler and dog or a seasoned handler of other venues of agility. If you are still in the thinking stages of getting a dog and are interested in just observing teacup agility call & make an appointment to check it out.
