Hi Everybody -
Well, agility league is over for another year, so that means spring is right around the corner. We have LOTS planned, and should be a fun time for everybody. Remember to set your clocks ahead 1 hour Saturday night, March 10th, before you go to bed!

Saturday, March 17 - Agility League Potluck & Awards
There are classes on this Saturday morning, so the potluck will start at 1 PM. Awards will follow (around 2 PM). Come a little early if you can, to help set up. Plates, silverware, and drinks (coffee, hot chocolate, hot tea, water) will be furnished. Bring your favortie dish and a hearty appetite! We have a lot of great cooks out there! We will be having an "Agility cake" too! The banquet & awards are open to everyone - so if you have a friend or family who want to attend, that's great! We are planning for 40 to 50 people to attend. No dogs please.

Saturday, March 17 - Teacup agility meeting to follow awards.
The teacup people are planning a meeting right after the awards. (This should be around 3 PM). Even if you can't attend the potluck & awards, we would like to have you join us for the teacup meeting. Any 1st timers to our meeting will receive a free gift. We will be going over events for the year 2007 and have many fun events planned. Here is the agenda -

"Canine Contacts" Dog Expo, Saturday, June 30th
This is a new event this year, sponsored by Pine Meadows Dog Training Center, with the net profits donated to The Charlevoix County Humane Society. This will be open to the public and will have vendors with dog related items, breeders, groomers, dog training, dog products, rescue societies, humane societies, veterinarians, and any other dog related topics. For a small fee, the public will be able to view, touch, see & smell the wonderful world of dogs. This all will be happening at the Kaliseum in Kalkaska on Saturday, June 30th from 10 AM to 5 PM. Only dogs that will be allowed will be by invitation only. No dogs will be available for sale or adoption this day. There will be pictures available to see what is for sale or available for adoption. There will also be live demonstrations throughout the expo. We already have people who have volunteered for obedience, agility, teacup agility, weight pulling, and I hear we may have flyball and some other fun activities. This is a big undertaking, but the goal is to educate the public and to encourage people to be responsible pet owners. To own a pet can be fun!

This is something that I have wanted to do for the northern Michigan community. I cannot do all of this by myself. So I am looking for willing volunteers who would like to help and make a difference in pet owners of northern Michigan. If you have a specific interest in some area, or just want to help in a small way, let me know. This will be fun, and can be very rewarding.

10th Anniversary!
The year 2008 is a special year, as this will mark the 10 year anniversary for Pine Meadows Dog Training Center. Some of you remember starting out in the horse arena - dusty, dirty, and the footing in there was so deep it was hard to run - and thanks to all of you - we have continued to grow each year, and plan to continue growing. We always value your input and want to know what we can do to improve our services to the community.

We are currently working on making 2008 a year to remember, and have some special events planned for not only educational, but fun. We hope you will continue to support our services and that you will take an active part. We sincerely thank each one of you for your continued support.
