Hi Everybody -
Monsoon season is here ! Isn't Michigan weather crazy? Just can't believe it -June is here! Hope all of you are enjoying the summer activities. Here is what's going on at the training center..... Teacup Match held June 2 & 3 We had 12 dogs come and have fun on the teacup equipment. Each person had a "mentor" who guided them through the maze of proper protocol and learning the ropes of participating in a trial. Everyone was a big help - just pitched in to do whatever needed done. We all got to know each other better, and the dogs did great ! Shirley Burns and Agnes Shaw were the judges, and had suggestions for the participants to help them out with their dogs. Our next event is the Teacup Judges clinic to be held June 20 & 21, followed by a 2 day teacup trial on June 22 & 23. If you need a premium, click here to download a MSWord document. Also, a flexi -leash was found this past weekend. If you are missing one, please contact me. Canine Good Citizen testing The Grand Traverse Kennel Club will be testing for the Canine Good Citizen award at their show at the Civic Center on Saturday, June 16th. There will be no Therapy Dog testing . I will be conducting a class on Monday, June 11 at 7 PM to go over the areas that the test covers. If you would like to come practice, please let me know. Cost is $15. Beginning Agility class The beginners class will be starting Monday, June 18th at 6:30 PM for 5 weeks. Cost is $65. If interested, please let me know ASAP as class size will be limited. Beginning Obedience class This class is starting Tuesday, June 19th at 7 PM. It's for 6 weeks & costs $75. We only have 2 spots left, so if you are interested, please let me know ASAP. Dog Awards 2006 The listing is on our website - www.pinemeadowsfarm.com Go to "newsletter" and then click on "Dog Awards 2006" This listing shows the new titles obtained in 2006 on dogs. What an impressive listing ! Congratulations !! June 30th - "Canine Contacts" Dog Expo The list is growing of exhibitors that will be there....it's amazing just how much dogs are a part of our lives - a part of our family. I am impressed with people who are coming forward to share with others their knowledge. It is quite impressive. Don't forget the Parade of Breeds - and the All-Americans. This will be at 1 PM. For $15, you can have 1 or 2 dogs (can be of 2 different breeds) in the Parade. You need to write a short description and email the info to Mary Belanger mary@classiccanine.com by June 23 . Mary is in charge of getting everybody lined up, just like in a beauty pageant. You can dress your dog up if you want - and we want as many breeds represented as possible. I am hoping to have 50 different breeds represented there. Money collected is going to the Charlevoix County Humane Society. 2007 Second Annual Poochfest The Charlevoix County Humane Society will be having their 2nd annual Poochfest on July 15th from 12 noon til 4 PM at the Veterans Park on the water at Boyne City.This is an afternoon of fun with the whole family - two & four legged ! It's outside, so your dog is welcome.
