Fall is here - agility trials are winding down for a little while. Grand Traverse Kennel Club had a wonderful 2 day agility trial this past weekend. Weather could have been better on Saturday, but Sunday was great for dogs and handlers. What a fun show! Obedience trials, including rally obedience, continue on into December. Contact the training center if you need specific information, or how to locate trials. Here is the Class Schedule: MONDAY 6:30 PM - Intermediate Agility/Advanced Agility There is room for 2 people to join this class. You would be joining starting Oct. 23rd. Please contact the training center to reserve one of these spots. 7:30 PM - Intermediate Agility/Advanced Agility There is room for 1 person to join this class. You would be joining starting October 23rd. Please contact the training center to reserve this spot. TUESDAY 4 PM - Competitive Novice Obedience You must have completed at least 1 obedience class. There is room for 2 people to join this class. You would be joining the class starting on October 10th. Class is for 6 weeks for $60. 6 PM - Intermediate Agility/Advanced Agility There is room for 1 person to join this class. You would be joining the class starting on October 24th. Please contact the training center to reserve this spot. 7:15 PM - Beginning Obedience (taught by Cathy Winkler) This course is for 6 weeks for $75. Class starts October 24th. Call to receive a registration packet and to reserve a spot. WEDNESDAY 4 PM - Teacup Agility - Advanced level - meets the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month. 6 PM - Teacup - open floor Open to teacup dogs (17" and under at the shoulder of dog) who do not wish to be in a class setting but want to practice on teacup equipment. Dog & handler must have completed at least 2 courses in teacup agility. Contact the training center to reserve a spot. 7 PM - Teacup Agility - Beginners & Intermediate level Dogs must be at least a year old or older. There is room for 2 people to join this class. You would be joining the class starting on October 25th. Please contact the training center to reserve a spot. THURSDAY 2:30 PM - Open/Utility Obedience (taught by Lu Capra) If you are interested in joining this class, contact the training center for more information. 4:45 PM - Advanced Agility There is room for 2 people to join this class. You would be joining the class starting on October 26th. Please contact the training center to reserve a spot. 6 PM - Advanced Agility There is room for 3 people to join this class. You would be joining the class starting on October 26th. Please contact the training center to reserve a spot. 7:15 PM - Advanced Beginners Obedience NEW You must have completed at least 1 obedience class or the equivalent to take this 6 week course for $75. Sessions will continue on what you learned in basic obedience. Also will learn some advanced techniques that are helpful around home. SATURDAY 9:30 AM - Beginning Agility Dogs must be at least 1 year old or older. Classes are for 5 weeks for $65 and start October 21st. Contact the training center for a registration packet. Your check will hold your spot. 10:30 AM - Advanced Beginners Agility For those completing beginning agility, this is the next course to further develop skills for the dog and handler to become a team. Classes are for 5 weeks for $65 and start October 21st. Please contact the training center to reserve a spot. ATTENTION: Sunday, October 29th - Rally & Obedience match This will be held at the training center. Cost is $2 per run for Rally Obedience; $5 per run for Obedience. Register the day of match. Building opens 9 AM. Schedule RALLY is first 9:30 AM - Excellent level - Course walk thru followed by runs 10:15 AM - Advanced level - Course walk thru followed by runs 11 AM - Novice level - Course walk thru followed by runs OBEDIENCE to follow Registration is from Noon to 1 PM. Judging will start at 12:30 PM. There will be 2 rings going - one for pre-novice & novice; the other one for open & utility. NEW LOCATION: Beginning Obedience classes Starting Monday, October 23rd at 6:30 PM, Pine Meadows Dog Training Center will be offering dog obedience classes at the Kaliseum located in Kalkaska. Classes are for 6 weeks for $75 and will be taught by Cathy Winkler, instructor. Call the Kaliseum at 258-5913 for more info and/or a registration packet AGILITY EQUIPMENT available on the internet Have found some great pricing on agility equipment on the internet.
