Hi Everybody -
We are keeping busy here at the dog training center. As the year is fast coming to an end, we are busy preparing for 2007. Here are some of the events already being discussed:

Saturday, November 11, 2006 - Teacup Agility meeting
There will be a meeting on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at NOON to discuss events for 2007. Bring a sack lunch, no dogs please. Some of the topics will be Teacup Agility Judges seminar to be held here June 20 thru 24, 2007; how many trials do we want to do in 2007; Teacup Fun Day - when? , results of the 2006 Teacup Petit Prix & any other items pertaining to teacup agility. We now have 2 more teacup tunnels, tunnel holders & some other misc. stuff thanks to the reimbursement program the teacup agility association has in place. Even if you don't want to compete, still come to the meeting. We want your input on what teacup dogs can really do! Bring your 2007 calendars !

New Ideas
We are always interested in ideas and comments that you have. We strive to meet the needs of dog owners and their dogs. As a result of this, we are tossing the idea around of offering a breed handling class. If this is something you might be interested in, please email me with your comments. THANKS.

We are also considering having an agility seminar here in March, 2007 with Debra Harrison. One of the topics we are considering is "Agility Proofing" which she explains as "a fun way to test the basic skills/understanding that the dog/handler team have for addressing possible scenarios within the typical course - it is interesting to see what the dog truly understands." If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see at this seminar, please email me. Anyone willing to be on this committee, please let me know.

Obedience is going strong here. We still have the basic beginning obedience on Tuesday nights, and have added the Thursday night Advanced Beginners obedience, plus we had to split the daytime Competitive Novice Obedience class. When the advanced beginners class on Thursday nights is over, we will be offering an evening Competitive Novice Obedience class. Watch for more info and starting times (won't be until January, 2007).

Agility Winter League
It's getting to be that time of year again - agility league! Be thinking who you want on your team - and a name for your team. Cost is still $15 per dog/handler for the whole league. Games will start the week of January 15th, 2007. For the new people, this is a great way to come once a week and run your dog playing the weekly game, and keep you & your dog in shape - makes the winter go by faster, too!

Border Collie Needs Home
Alana 3 yo female, purebred Border Collie (written by Katy)
Alana is a beautiful girl with alot of energy. She will need an experienced owner who can spend lots of quality one-on-one time with her. I think she would make a great agility partner as she is quick and attentive to her handler. Alana has an awesome recall & is consistant on her basic obedience. She is currently getting lots of on-leash training & is making huge strides. Although she does great with kids, she will need an adult to be her primary caregiver. Alana needs lots of exercise daily for her mind & body. She would not be happy just being a family pet. She needs a job where she gets plenty of mental as well as physical stimulation in her everyday life. She has an awesome toy drive. Alana is being fostered in West Central Michigan Photo can be seen at http://www.greatlakesbcrescue.org/AvailablePhotos/alana/alana.jpg
