Hi Everybody -
Wow! Where has this year gone? Can you believe it? Only 1 more month of this year! But we have lots packed into 2007 which will offer you lots of choices of what you would like to do with your dog. Or should it be dogs? Many of you have added a second and third dog to your family. And yes, I am aware of some of you that now have four dogs! That's great!! Handling class on Tuesdays New! Some of you have asked about a handling class where you could drop in and work dogs in a conformation ring atmosphere. We are going to try a couple of Tuesday nights in December - the 5th, 12th, and the 19th - at 7:15 PM. Cost is $5 per night. I know this is short notice and a busy time of year. Give us your feedback if you are interested. THANKS. Saturday classes in December Jill will continue with the Saturday classes in December. Times have changed a little. Teacup meeting, Saturday, December 9th at noon There will be another teacup meeting on Saturday, December 9th at noon to discuss ways of making the public more aware of teacup agility. I personally have challenged the group to see if we can raise the number of teacup registered dogs in Michigan to an additional 100 dogs by Nationals in October, 2007. Right now there are around 45 dogs registered. Anyone is welcome to come & join the meeting. Bring a sack lunch. No dogs please. At our last meeting, here is a brief overview of what we have tentatively planned for 2007: June 2 & 3 - Teacup match. This would be for beginners who want to try teacup. Those of us that have been around for "swhile" would be "mentors" to those starting out. And "mentors" would get a chance to run their dogs, too. June 20 thru 23 - Teacup Judges' clinic. The first 2 days are the days of studying the rules & regulations & discussing course building. The other 2 days are days of an actual trial where the "judges" practice their skills on judging. Bud Houston will be here for certification of judges. July 14 - Teacup Fun Day July 28 & 29 - Teacup trial September 8 & 9 - Teacup trial October 12, 13, & 14 - Teacup Nationals, Springfield, Illinois November 17 & 18 - Teacup trial (Christmas theme) March 24 & 25, 2007 - AGILITY SEMINAR with Deb Harrison Save the date! Dates have been set, working out the arrangements with Deb right now. She is sending me a bio so we can get to "know her" a little better before she comes. She lives in the southern area of Michigan. She has or has had Dalmations, Jack Russell terriers, and Border Collie that I am aware of. There will be 10 working spots plus unlimited auditors. I will have more details in the next newsletter. OBEDIENCE Seminar Still working on this topic. Have some ideas, but am looking for someone who would like to help me with this one. Could be later in 2007 or whenever. Seems like the first quarter of 2007 is filling up! 2007 Agility League People are talking about it - there still is time! I have 2 teams already formed, and a few people who are interested in being on a team. League games start the week of January 15th and run for 8 weeks (ends March 10th). Teacup people will have their own league, as the distance between obstacles and standard course times will be different from the other courses. There will be no classes starting Friday, December 22nd and classes will resume Wednesday, January 3rd.
